On Sunday November 5, Saint Luke’s will welcome home Chef Kenny Claxton who has been working at The Longboard Restaurant in Saint John, USVI. In response to the two devastating hurricanes this fall, their restaurant has operated exclusively to feed the community and those helping to rebuild. This week, the generator at The Longboard died and is not able to be repaired and the Restaurant has closed for a period.
Kenny (the son of Parishioners Bill and Lynne Claxton) is now home visiting and is bringing his food and talent back to Saint Luke’s. This Sunday he will be preparing a Caribbean-Style Pulled Pork dish which the Longboard evidently made frequently for the aiding community. The Church will be taking donations to aid hurricane relief in the Caribbean as well as Texas and Florida.
