 Prayer for Episcopal Church Women

Almighty God, bless, we pray, our work in mission and ministry in the world; and make us so thankful for the precious gift to us of your beloved Son, that we may pray fervently, labor diligently, and give liberally to make known throughout the world the redeeming love of our Savior. AMEN.

September's ECW Meeting

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

Eileen Sidelnick, president of the ECW opened the meeting with greetings and salutations at approximately 6:35 PM. Devotions were read, which was titled ‘Closing of Summer’, and given by Grace Cecil, followed by the Episcopal Church Women’s Prayer. We were graced by Father Terrence Wible who blessed our small dedicated group with a prayer for strength and continued renewal in our purposes. Upon the closing of his wonderful prayer we then commenced with our delicious covered dish meal, supplied by all those who attended. The business part of the meeting began at around 7:20 PM and it consisted of the Secretary’s Report given by our new secretary Sue Dreibelbis, Treasurer’s Report by Dolly Smith, Committee Reports by Eva Readinger, Gloria Shirk, Lynn Heisey, Marilyn Galebach and Debbie Harris. Old and new business topics were visited and accepted. The meeting was hosted by Chris, Kathy, and Rose Brown.

The next upcoming meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 14 at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall, hope to see you there.

God and Peace Be With You Now and Always,

 May’s ECW Meeting

Tuesday, May 15th ECW ended their formal church season with a TEA PARTY. The theme was hats and we had quite the array of hats ... old, new, work, fun, etc. A total of 58 ladies ranging from St. Luke's members to guests attended the event. The ladies enjoyed an evening of finger sandwiches, fruit, desserts, and of course TEA! The ladies were asked to wear their 'thinking caps' as they participated in some word challenges and guessing games. We also voted on a charity geared towards women's needs, and after all votes were tallied the winner was 'Dress for Success'. The total monies collected from the TEA PARTY event amounted to $355 and will be sent along with a letter to that worthy cause.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the hostess who decorated their tables and entertained in between the food, fellowship, games, music, and announcements. Without you the event would not have been the success it was. Our auditorium looked quite exquisite with the variety of tea pots and table settings. Also a thank you to the committee members, and other ECW ladies, who helped on Tuesday with the set up.

ATTENTION all members of St. Luke's ... during the month of June ECW will be collecting toothpaste and toothbrushes for our annual Christmas Stocking Project. A tub will be placed in the lobby at the elevator in the auditorium for the collection of these items. We are looking for toothbrushes wrapped individually and the small sample size toothpaste (no larger than 3oz.). You can donate whatever amount you feel comfortable.

This format is replacing our Christmas tree with ornaments (Christmas in July) that we displayed during July and August the past 2 years. Each summer month will be a different collection item(s). Just a reminder that the completed Christmas Stockings go to area nursing homes and hospitals in December of 2014. Our goal is to complete 125 stockings! With expenses and cost of items going up we need YOUR help to continue to meet the needs of our community.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Beth Y.

ECW Ladies Night Out at the Timbers

If you need a ride and would like to carpool, we will meet at the church at 5:30 p.m. Please send the information below and a check (payable to St. Luke’s ECW) to Eileen S.

Our next scheduled ECW meeting will be Tuesday, September 9 at 6:30 PM, we hope you can join us. Thank you and have a wonderful, safe, and blessed summer.
