Prayer for Episcopal Church Women
Almighty God, bless, we pray, our work in mission and ministry in the world; and make us so thankful for the precious gift to us of your beloved Son, that we may pray fervently, labor diligently, and give liberally to make known throughout the world the redeeming love of our Savior. AMEN.
Episcopal Church Women
May’s ECW Meeting
On Tuesday, May 15th ECW ended their formal church season with a TEA PARTY. The theme was hats and we had quite the array of hats ... old, new, work, fun, etc. A total of 58 ladies ranging from St. Luke's members to guests attended the event. The ladies enjoyed an evening of finger sandwiches, fruit, desserts, and of course TEA! The ladies were asked to wear their 'thinking caps' as they participated in some word challenges and guessing games. We also voted on a charity geared towards women's needs, and after all votes were tallied the winner was 'Dress for Success'. The total monies collected from the TEA PARTY event amounted to $355 and will be sent along with a letter to that worthy cause.
September's ECW Meeting
Tuesday, September 9, 2014
Eileen Sidelnick, president of the ECW opened the meeting with greetings and salutations at approximately 6:35 PM. Devotions were read, which was titled ‘Closing of Summer’, and given by Grace Cecil, followed by the Episcopal Church Women’s Prayer. We were graced by Father Terrence Wible who blessed our small dedicated group with a prayer for strength and continued renewal in our purposes. Upon the closing of his wonderful prayer we then commenced with our delicious covered dish meal, supplied by all those who attended. The business part of the meeting began at around 7:20 PM and it consisted of the Secretary’s Report given by our new secretary Sue Dreibelbis, Treasurer’s Report by Dolly Smith, Committee Reports by Eva Readinger, Gloria Shirk, Lynn Heisey, Marilyn Galebach and Debbie Harris. Old and new business topics were visited and accepted. The meeting was hosted by Chris, Kathy, and Rose Brown.
The next upcoming meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 14 at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall, hope to see you there.
