THE CALLING OF OUR FOURTEENTH RECTOR

Please join us for our first TOWN HALL MEETING concerning the Priest Search which will be Sunday October 4, 2015.  We will gather for one COMBINED SERVICE at 9 AM (Sung) and meet at 10:30.

Some responses from our Congregation concerning things they find important in searching for our next Rector:

"This seems very important to us, someone who is deeply passionate about the Church and its teachings and who, through a refined and potent set of interpersonal skills, aids others in the development of their own similar passions.."

"We believe that Saint Luke's is blessed with one of the most splendid church buildings in America, and pray that it will continue to be cared for and restored as much as possible. It connects us, in a profound way, with generations of the faithful of Saint Luke's past..."

"The liturgy--how we worship--is very important to us indeed.  We treasure the rich and emotionally resonant language of Rite I and find the solemn, serious execution of the most sacred parts of that liturgy to be completely appropriate..."

Fellowship Ministry

St. Luke’s recognizes that opportunities for social events are a critical component of congregational life. As such the Fellowship Ministry is dedicated to organizing social events and outings for St. Luke’s Parishioners throughout the year.

The Fellowship Ministry has organized the following in the past:

  • Pot luck supper in February. Great way to soothe “cabin fever"
  • Strawberry social in May. Focus was on recognizing the many, many volunteers in the congregation as well as eating hot dogs and of course strawberries.
  • Bus trip to the Washington National Cathedral in July. Great time with opportunities to attend a Eucharist service, tour the Cathedral and grounds.
  • Adult night out at Nissley Winery in August. Chance to socialize, listen to music and of course sample some of Nissley’s fine wine
  •  Fall parish picnic at AES Ironwood Park in October. One last chance to be outside with friends, food and fun
  • Participation as a venue for the Lebanon Valley Arts Council Art Walk. On the first Friday of every month St. Luke’s displays some form of art as well as a self-guided tour of our magnificent Nave and Sanctuary.
If you have ideas for future events or would like to participate in planning or helping with an event you can contact Laurie Daub at ldaub52@comcast.net or the Church Office at info@stlukeslebanon.org
