St. Luke's has a rich history of musical excellence. For over a century the church supported a choir of men and boys. To this were added an adult choir and a choir of women and girls. The tradition continues today in the St. Luke's Church Choir, St. Luke's Festival Choir, and St. Luke's Handbell Choir.

Led by Choirmast Bill Claxton and Organist Terry Heisey all of our choirs tackle sophisticated literature, and the congregation is accustomed to a variety of languages and historical style periods. The St. Luke's Festival Choir is made up of singers from a variety of faith traditions who value traditional sacred music sung in the context for which it was written. The Festival Choir sings Evensong monthly from September to June, occasionally with extended masterworks like Handel's Messiah, Bach cantatas, and several Requiems. Evensongs conclude with a concert of organ, piano, instrumental, or choral music with guest artists from central Pennsylvania, major cities of the Northeast, and even England. Other series like this exist in England and major United States cities, including New York, Washington, and Philadelphia, but this is one of the very few outside of major metropolitan areas.
