Saturday Vigil Eucharist

Worshipers gather around the altar during the Vigil Eucharist consecration.

Each Saturday Evening at 5 we gather for an informal Eucharist. This service features an intimate and contemplative tone which is led by the priest while actually sitting among the people. Later in the service, the priest invites the people to gather with him around the altar for the consecration. Since this service is a vigil for Sunday, the same readings are used as will be used for Sunday morning. Music is selected from various resources and often includes works from our hymnal supplements Lift Every Voice and Sing, and Wonder Love and Praise.  The music is led from a variety of instruments including guitar and piano. This service takes place at the Mary Altar in the North Transept of the Nave.

The Saturday Vigil lasts about 45 minutes.

At any Eucharist Service at Saint Luke’s, all persons of Christian Faith are welcome to receive Communion. If you would prefer to worship with us and not physically receive Communion, we encourage you to come forward with the other Communicants and cross your hands over your chest to receive a blessing from the Priest.
