Access for Persons with Special Needs

parking lot outside church

The parking lot directly behind the church provides reserved parking for those with mobility concerns as well as a grade-level entrance to the Nave and Auditorium via the elevator.

Entrance and Parking Information

There are two wheelchair-accessible entrances to St. Luke’s. Our newly renovated bell tower entrance on Chestnut Street has a ramp and leads directly into the Nave (main worship space). There is also an elevator entrance behind the church off our accessible parking area; follow ‘Wheelchair Accessible Parking’ signs down 6th Street – turn right onto Walton Street (alley) and right again into the small lot. At the end of this lot is an at-grade elevator entrance, which can take you directly to any level of the church’s buildings.  A wheelchair is kept in the elevator lobby for those who may wish to use it to get to around more easily.

Seating Information

Two pew areas have been specially modified for those with mobility needs (wheelchair and walker accessible). One is located on the north side aisle and another in the main aisle. Please ask an usher (or anyone) for directions, if needed.

Restroom Information

There is a designated restroom in the area behind The Lady Chapel (the blue-backed altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary) near the pulpit. Enter the door immediately to the right of that Altar, take a left and find the restroom there.

Other accessible restroom facilities are located on the first floor of the Parish Hall, accessed by going down to the lower level in the elevator (LL), taking a right, and proceeding up the slight ramp to find restrooms.

Please ask our Ushers to show you to the restrooms at any time during our services and any time during your visit with us.
